When papers are displayed in the Family Life Center as a group, the student's name is easily visible with a beautiful picture of their saint. Awesome visual in honor of these saints. (See pictures below)

Baptismal Certificate
A copy of your child's Baptismal Certificate is mandatory. Proof of Baptism before Confirmation is required.
Attend Mass Every Sunday & Must Sign Attendance Sheet in St. Ignatius Hall
Before entering the church please sign in St. Ignatius Hall for the Mass time they are attending.
If a student is out of town he/she is still expected to attend Mass. The Confirmation student will be required to go to Mass where they are and to remember to bring that church’s bulletin to their next class. The student's name and date should be signed on the cover of the bulletin, and submitted it to the Confirmation Catechists or the Director of Confirmation. This bulletin will be placed in the students Confirmation file along with their Mass attendance.
We like the Confirmation students to sit together as a group once a month at the 5:00 p.m. Sunday teen Mass, however, this is not mandatory. They may sit with their family instead.
Confirmation girls and boys will host a teen Mass at some point during the year where they are responsible for doing the announcements, being the lectors of the readings, singing in the choir, altar serving, ushering, greeting etc… This provides the student with the experience and appreciation of what it takes to conduct a Mass as well as to see what roles they would like to play in the Church after Confirmation.

Complete Scriptural Homework
The Confirmation student will occasionally need to complete questions on Scriptural readings and YOUCAT (Youth Catechism of the Catholic Church) and hand that in to the Catechists. ALL homework is reviewed, and filed into his/her Confirmation folder to be commented on during their Confirmation interview by Father Andrew or the Deacons. Students are expected to put forth their best efforts in completing these assignments.

Provide a Minimum of 10 Hours of Service
5 hours Community service + 5 hours Church service = 10 hours minimum service are required.
Each service event needs to be documented and submitted to the Catechist/Director of Confirmation. All hours are recorded and placed in the student’s Confirmation folder.
Confirmation realistically is a two year program. Eight graders are considered
“Pre-Confirmation”. Over the summer it would be wise to complete service hours when they have more time than during the school year.
Download the Service document under the "Requirements" tab or in the document below. This document is to be used to record their service hours. It is much easier to have them keep up with the service forms at the time the hours are performed. They should fill out the form and have it signed by the person in charge of the event at the time the service is performed. Having the student recreate and remember the date, detail, and what they accomplished as well as chase down the witness to sign the document adds unnecessary steps. The student can hand in the service forms the day of the first Confirmation class and they will be ahead of the game.
Please remember that the student needs to provide a detailed explanation of what they did and have it signed by the responsible person in charge of the service event.
Happy Helping!

A Letter to the Bishop
A one-paged, personal, handwritten letter is required. Example of letter below. The student can type the original draft on a computer, however, the final letter that is sent to the Bishop needs to be handwritten.
Sponsor Certificate
Your sponsor CANNOT be one of your parents! If the Confirmation student's sponsor is a Parishoner of Our Lady of the Lake, no sponsor certificate is necessary. However, the student must provide the Director of Confirmation the name of his/her sponsor who is the Parishioner so that information can be recorded well in advance of the Confirmation ceremony.

Attend 2 Retreats (Mandatory attendance)
The Confirmation student is required to attend both retreats for the Spiritual experience and bonding with other students in their class.
Reconciliation
The Confirmation student must be in a state of grace before receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation. They will be required to go to Confession and participate in the Penance Service during Lent.
Stations of the Cross
The Confirmation Student should attend at least one Stations of the Cross Service during Lent. We discuss the Stations in class as well as review the movie, The Passion Of the Christ, so that the student will understand the connections between the Mass and the Stations of the Cross.
Final Test
The study guide can be downloaded for the student to focus his/her study efforts, and review it at any time. It is located under the "Forms & Lessons" tab.
We let the student know exactly what is on the test so they will learn all the necessary information to be able to score 100% if they provide the effort to study the material. The objective is for them to know and understand the Catholic faith.
The student must pass this test with an 80% or greater.
Our students are very competitive, and they really put in a great study effort!!!
